At the end of April, Hereford Cathedral bid farewell to its Weeping Window – an installation of several thousand cascading ceramic poppies. In this dramatic display, Hereford remembered all those who served and sacrificed their lives in The Great War one hundred years ago.
As the poppies leave Hereford, Beacon’s Compliance Officer, Donna Bourne has secured a limited number of exclusive WW1 centenary pins for customers and friends to purchase, in remembrance of the fallen and support of the Armed Forces community today.
You can show your support during this special anniversary year and secure one of two special WW1 centenary pins – available in white and bronze for £3 each.
“The poppy is a powerful symbol, and one hundred years on, it means more than ever,” explains Donna. “We must remember the sacrifice made by those who gave their lives in The First World War, as well as all of those who have fallen since. Remembrance is important to every generation – freedom comes with a cost.
Looking back, looking forward
“But it’s about more than just remembering. The poppy also brings hope – for the armed forces and for our nation. It’s a sign of the vital, life-giving support that The Royal British Legion offers to the Armed Forces community today – I have seen the need for this first hand.
“Wearing a poppy remembers the past, and looks to the future in hope. On this one hundredth anniversary year, this is a small way you can stand with our forces and show your support.”
